Andrey Rublev wins the Adelaide International final against Lloyd Harris in to have his 4th ATP Tour title

Andrey Rublev, the Russian tennis star was able to extend his unbeaten match record to 12 matches after he defeated his Adelaide Intentional final opponent Lloyd Harris by 6-3 and 6-0 to win the singles title.

By winning the Adelaide Intentional title, Andrey Rublev has now become the first player in the last 16eyars to have secured his titles back to back in the course of season’s first 2 weeks. His other title was the Qatar Exxon/Mobil Open held in Doha which he also won without ever losing a set.

The Russian, who is currently ranked world no. 18, was able to save all of his breakpoints as he ousted Harris in only 56 minutes. By doing so, he followed the footsteps of another tennis great Dominik Hrbaty who had won the titled of Auckland and Adelaide ahead of the 2014’s Australian Open.

Andrey Rublev said after the match, “I was not at all thinking about the records but it is still a great feeling. If you are talking about the results, then surely this is the best that I have ever played and achieved.”

Andrey Rublev added, “This is what we are currently working for; to be more consistent as well as stronger mentally.  This is what we have been working for. I am really happy to see these 2 weeks pass by like this. I won 2 titles. It is simply amazing. I never had this before in my career.”

Somewhere else, at the final of the Auckland Classic, Ugo Humbert was able to win over Benoit Paire by 7-6, 3-6, and 7-6 to win his career’s maiden title of ATP Tour.
