Augustin scores 25 and tiebreaking 3 to lead Magic’s win over Raptors by 104-101

For the Orlando Magic’s Game 1 of the playoffs, it felt like the last few games from the regular season; small margins with high stakes but a big win in the end.

DJ Augustin scores 25 points which also includes his tiebreaking 3-pointer with 3.5 seconds to the clock to let the Orlando Magic win over the Toronto Raptors in their Game 1 of the Eastern Conference playoffs series round 1.

Kawhi Leonard from Raptors side had the final shot of the night as he shot for a 3-pointer which struck the rim.

Orlando Magic surprisingly went to 22-9 in their last 31 games of the regular season to clinch the playoffs spot which is their first since 2012.

Steve Clifford, the Magic’s coach said, “I think it helps a lot. We have been playing games that we needed to win and were meaningful to us.”

Nikola Vucevic who scored 11 points said that Orlando’s stretch drive helped us to be mentally prepared for the grind that we will face in the postseason.

Other players of Magic helped out the team greatly as Aaron Gordon scored 10 points along with 10 rebounds while Evan Fournier added in his 16 points and Jonathan Isaac finishing with 121 points to let the 7th seed Magic’s to be the new team to beat Toronto Raptors in their opening game of the playoffs. With this loss, Raptors are now 2-14 on their playoffs opening games’.

Kyle Lowry of the Raptors said, “we know who we are and this is just one game for us. We only need to make sure, who we are and what we need to do. What we do and what we suppose to do, we are really good at it.”

Toronto Raptors were led by Kawhi Leonard who finished for the team with 25 points while Pascal Siakam scored 24 points and Fred VanVleet added in his 14 points for the 2nd seeded Toronto Raptors.

Game 2 will be played in Toronto on Tuesday night.
