Australia beats Pakistan in the first Test match with Mitchell Starc taking 4 wickets

The day one of the Test Match series between Australia and Pakistan ended with a win for the Australian team. Mitchell Starc led the bowling side of Australia with his 4 wickets by giving away only 42 runs and then some late new ball performance helped the team to seal their win over Pakistan by only allowing them 240 runs.

Pat Cummins was the second top wicket-taker of Australia with his 3 wickets while the third one was the fast bowler of the team Josh Hazlewood with his 2 wickets giving away 46 runs. The host took on the visitors at Gabba with a surprise performance.




Asad Shafiq of Pakistan was the one who presented most resistance for the team’s scoring spree as he made 76 runs before getting ousted on a delivery from pat Cummins that removed the middle stump.

Starc, the left armed bowler of Australia was able to get the 2nd new ball during the final hour of the game to make great use of it as he ousted Yasir Shah at 26 runs and Shaheen Shah Afridi at 0 run in consecutive deliveries on his way for a possible hat trick.

Next came Naseem Shah, the 16 years old youngster who was playing in the first Test Match of his career and managed to survive the delivery from Starc to hit his stumps.

Naseem Shah was the final batsmen from the Pakistani team’s side to fall after only making 7 runs after he knocked the ball in the air on delivery from Starc, which was caught.

Earlier in the inning, Australia had been much frustrated with the opening partnership of 75 runs made by Azhar Ali and Shan Masood. However, Australians were able to find their rhythm to oust them in three deliverers before adding the swift ousting of Haris Sohail and Babar Azam.
