Australia wins over Canada by 81-73 in the 2nd game of pre-FIBA World Cup

In the second game of the Pre-FIBA World Cup, that will start in China later this September, between Australia and Canada, Australia was able to defeat Canada by 81-73 after a late rally in the 4th quarter on Saturday night. 

Canada was leading the game before halftime by 33-30 on Saturday night but then in the third quarter, Australia was leading the game by 60-59 on their way to outscoring their opponents by 21-14 in the final quarter. Earlier on Friday night first pre World Cup game between these two teams, Canada was able to win over Australia by 90-70.

In this game, Australia was led by Jock Landale who scored 13 points while Jonah Bodlen helped with his 12 points. As for Canada’s side, they were led by Khem Birch who scored 18 points with Oshae Brissett pitching in his 14 points for the team.

For the first game of the FIBA World Cup that will start in China, Australia will play Game 1 against Canada on September 1st.

Up next, Australia will now be hosting the pre-season exhibition game against Team USA next week on Thursday and Saturday. As for Canada, they will host their pre-season games against New Zealand next week on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively and then an exhibition game against the USA in Sydney on August 26th.
