Before his 35th Birthday, LeBron has his 9000th assist as LA Lakers win over Mavericks by 108-95

Only one night before LeBron James would celebrate his 35th birthday, he reached another milestone in his NBA careers playing for the LA Lakers.

LeBron James became the 9th player in the NBA history to have reached the mark of 9000 assists in the game of LA Lakers VS Dallas Mavericks which ended with 108-95 win for the Lakers.

James, who has been named as the Associated Press Male Athlete of the Decade on the very same day, got his career’ 9000th assists with only 4 minutes left to the first quarter of the game. He fired the outlet pass to teammate Anthony Davis who was three-quarter way down on the court for scoring a dunk. That was among the 13 assists that LeBron James had on the night.

James talking about his milestone said “It was something that was instilled in my brain and body when I picked the basketball. One of my life’s earliest basketball coaches said that the best part for a game was to move side to side and attract the defense and give your teammate an open look.”

James scored 13 points with 13 assists in this game and has been aggressive on running the points for the last 2 games.

Frank Vogel, the coach for LA Lakers said, “His pace for the last 2 games has been outstanding and he does not seem to settle. We have done a better job of living in the paint for the last few games and made great decisions and had been aggressive.”

LA Lakers were led by Davis, who scored 23 points with his 9 rebounds while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 19 points and Dwight Howard scoring 15.

From the struggling Mavericks’ side, Luka Doncic was their highest scorer with his 19 points while Delon Wright scored 14 and J.J. Barea and Dorian Finney-Smith scored 12 points each.

Up next, LA Lakers will be hosting a game on Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns while Mavericks will have a road game against Oklahoma City.
