Ben Roethlisberger of Pittsburgh Steelers agrees to the contract extension

The NFL team Pittsburgh Steelers and their quarterback Ben Roethlisberger have agreed upon a contract extension for Roethlisberger which will see him be in the black and gold uniform while taking the lead until 2021 season.

37 years old Roethlisberger and Steelers reworked on his previous 12 million dollars base salary figure in this contract extension. Last month, Roethlisberger also received a 5 million dollars Roster bonus.

Although no other official details regarding the contract have been revealed, the quarterback market since the last time Roethlisberger signed his contract deal for 87 million dollars for 4 years back in 2015, has expanded too much.

Last week, Russell Wilson has become the highest paid NFL player in history after he signed a 4 years contract or 140 million dollars. However, Russell is only 30 years old. as for the quarterback in Roethlisberger’s age bracket, Drew Brees signed his 2-year contract with his team for 50 million dollars back in March of 2018 when he was 39 years old.

Back in the start of the 2017 NFL season, Roethlisberger said to media that he believes he can play for another 3 to 5 seasons.

Roethlisberger is going to form a new defense lead for 2019 as the stars like Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown have left the Steelers. Bell opted out for free agency and signed with New York Jets while Brown got his wish trade with the Oakland Raiders.

Ben Roethlisberger is the first round pick of the 2004 draft by the Steelers. He is the 2-time Super Bowl champion and also the 6 times Pro Bowl selection. With his 56,194 passing yards he is the 6th on the list while with his 663 TD passes, he is the 7th on this TD Passes list.
