Bill Russell, the NBA legend and the Basketball Hall Of Famer receives his induction ring 44 years later

Bill Russell, the NBA great and the inductee of the Basketball Hall of Fame has finally received his basketball Hall of Famer ring.

Bill Russell, who is the NBA champion 11 times along with being the MPV 5 times and the winner of Olympic Gold Medal and the champion of NCAA, posted on Twitter account this Friday that he has been presented with his ring for the Basketball Hall of Fame. The ring was presented to Bill Russell in a private and a close ceremony.

The 85 years old great from the NBA team Boston Celtics was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame back in 1975 but at that time he did not participate in the ceremony. At that time, he said that he did not deserve to become the 1st African American player to be inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame. He tweeted about that time, “I felt that other before I should have had that honor.”

His tweet about the time mentioned another player named Chuck Cooper who played in the 1950s as the first Afro-American player. Chuck Cooper was inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame this year.

Russell also wrote that this ceremony was attended by only his wife along with some of his close friends and the other inductees of Basketball Hall of Fame like Alonzo Mourning, Ann Meyers, and Bill Walton.
