Blues defeat Sharks to win the West’s finals and now they march to the Stanley Cup Final

For the first time in 49 years, St Louis Blues are going to march to the Stanley Cup Final which is a pretty sweet moment for the Vladimir Tarasenko and Co.

David Perron scored a goal and also had an assist while Jordan Binnington led his team with his franchise record of 12th playoff win as the Blues defeat the San Jose Sharks by 5-1 during the game 6 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night.




Three goals for Blues were scored by Tarasenko, Brayden Schenn and Tyler Bozak respectively. Now the Blues will face the Boston Bruins for the championship title. Ryan O’Reilly had 3 assists for the Blues while Binnington had 25 saves for the team.

Tarasenko, who ahs scored a goal in every game of the series, said, “We always believed In ourselves that we could do this. Still, this is an unbelievable feeling.”

St. Louis won 3 games in a row to reach the finals for the first time since 1970. Coincidentally, at that time, Blues were also pitted against Boston Bruins but lost the finals.

As for the Game 1 of the NHL Championship, it will be played in Boston on Monday.

Blues’ general manager and president of hockey operations, Doug Armstrong said, “We always had the talent but we were finding ways to lose the games instead of winning them. This time, however, they found the way to turn it around and never stopped.”

As for San Jose Sharks, they were playing without their star players such as Joe Pavelski, Tomas Hertl and defenseman Erik Karlsson.

Their only goal was scored by Gambrell during the 99th minute of the game.

Binnington said, “It is excitement and relief. We put in all the work and it was pretty special. The final minutes, counting down and how loud it really was in the rink. It was a special moment.”
