Bruins win Game 6 by 5-1 to force Game 7 against Blues

Facing the threat of getting eliminated, both Tuukka Rask and Brad Marchand stepped up for the Boston Bruins to lead the team’s win.

With the win, Stanley Cup is now heading into game 7 because of the Bruins’ two major stars.

Rask had 28 saves for the team while Marchand scored 1 goal and had 1 assist as Boston Bruins defeated St. Louis Blues by 5-1 on Sunday night to even the NHL finals series.

With this win, both teams now have equal 3 wins. One of the 4 goals by Bruins was scored by David Pasternak during the third period that helped the team force their 17th Game 7 in the history of Stanley Cup.

Other goals were scored by Zdeno Chara and Karson Kuhlman.

Marchand said, “We were fighting for our lives. When you are playing desperately, you see the best game of everyone in the team.”

Boston also forced the game 7 back in 2011 and ultimately winning the Stanley Cup championship. On that tea 8 years ago, Rask was a reserved goalie while Marchand was still a key player of the Bruins.

Heading into game 7 on Wednesday night to be held in Boston, both players will once more enter the championship battle for Bruins since they lost the last Game 7 against Chicago back in 2013.
