Chelsea wins over Spurs by 2-0 in a racism marred match of Premier League

In the match of Premier League between Chelsea and the 10-man Tottenham Spurs, the Chelsea defeated the Spurs by 2-0. This was the Premier League game that was allegedly marred with racist abuse coming from the crowd that led 3 warnings to be issued by the stadium announcer.

Antonio Rudiger, the defender for Chelsea who is back by ethnicity told his team captain Cesar Azpilicueta that he has heard monkey noises from the stands after his involvement for sending Spurs’ Son Heung-min off the field during the 62nd minute. Azpilicueta then reported this incident to the referee of the game named Anthony Taylor.

On 3 of the different occasions, the announcer said that the racist behavior from the crowd was interfering with this game.

As per the protocol of FIFA, a game has to be suspended after the 2nd announcement if it is made about discrimination and then to be abandoned entirely after the 3rd announcement.

Tottenham then released a statement saying that there had been an alleged incident of racism and that the club is also investigating a thorough investigation which will include the help of Chelsea and their player for their observations.”

The game was overall an impressive and polished performance from Chelsea as they played this Premier League game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Willian scoring 2 goals for the team in the first half. With this win, Chelsea is now 4th in the rankings of Premier League and has an advantage of 6 points over the 7th place Spurs. Also with this win, Chelsea ended their run of 4 losses in the last 5 games.

Chelsea with their formation of 3-4-3 was the better team of the two since the start of the game as they controlled the possessions and also enjoyed plenty of successes down the left as they scored their 12th-minute opening goal. As for Spurs, any of their hopes to make a comeback in the game died down as Son was sent off the field.
