Coach that led for two Olympic Medals for Nigerian team is banned by FIFA following bribe cases

The coach for the Nigerian Olympic Games team who led for their two Olympic Medals; has been banned by the FIFA for life following his involvement in receiving bribes for fixing soccer matches.

The coach named Samson Siasia has punished for this lifetime penalty by FIFA following an investigation into the infamous match-fixer from Singapore named Wilson Perumal.




Although FIFA has not elaborated on the details on which they banned Samson Siasia for life they did reveal that they have also fined him for a sum of 50000 Swiss Francs which is almost 50000 dollars on Friday verdict.

FIFA said in a statement, “Samson Siasia has agreed in the investigation case for manipulating the results of soccer matches and their violations.”

Samson Siasia coached the Nigerian team from the December of 2010 to October of 2011 and then again in October of 2016. At that time he also led the men’s soccer team of Nigeria under 23 for the Olympic games of 2016. At that time, the team defeated Honduras by 3-2 for the match of Bronze medal. Back in 2088, he also led the Nigerian team in the Olympics Games for the silver medal.

Siasia is the latest person involved for the illegal involvement in the Rio Olympics and to be convicted appropriately by FIFA. Another name is of Joseph Lamptey; a referee from Ghana who was also banned by FIFA for life.

As for the Olympic matches that have been identified in the investigation for match-fixing, they have not been made public.
