Crosby gets 4 points in his return as Pittsburgh Penguins defeat Minnesota Wild by 7-3

Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins had stressed before Penguins VS Minnesota Wild game that he would not try to be fancy in his return to the team from his 2-month long layoff due to his abdominal surgery.

But it did happened and the great thing was that most of it happened by Crosby himself as he helped his teammates of Pittsburgh Penguins win over Minnesota Wild by 7-3 dominant victory on Tuesday night. This amazing win is a testament to the fact that despite their Captain’s long absence how far this team has reached in their play.




Crosby did score 1 goal and had 3 assists in his first game since 9th November, but he was only a part of the overall and ever-changing attacking play that ripped Minnesota Wild’s defense and offense.

Evgeni Malkin had 2 goals and made a no-look pass to teammate Bryan Rust who scored his season’s 19th goal. As for Jared McCann, he scored his 4th goal in the last 5 games late in the first period.

Crosby said, “It is fun to compete and also with the way we work too; being there on the bench and seeing it shift after shift. This is a great way to play. Everyone is involved and I think that is a tough thing for other teams to play against.”

Crosby did not need more than 8 minutes to have his first point since Halloween as he made an assist to Malkin for his first goal of the night only 7:57 into the game.

As for Crosby’s own goal; his 6th for the season, he scored it in the 3rd period when he made a backhand shot that went past the goalie of Wild and helped the Pittsburgh Penguins win their 4th game in a row.

Up ext, Minnesota Wild will start their 7-game homestand this Thursday against the Tamp Bay lightings while Pittsburgh Penguins will start their 2-game road trip This Thursday as well against Boston Bruins.
