Dallas Mavericks beat Milwaukee Bucks by 120-116 to end their 18-game winning streak

Finally, the longest winning streak of its NBA season, for 18-games, by Milwaukee Bucks came to an end following the defeat against Dallas Mavericks.

Seth Curry and Kristaps Porzingis both scored 26 points each from Mavs’ side to help the team win over Bucks by 120-116 on Monday night and to end the impressive run of Bucks. Dallas Mavericks were even playing without their star player Luka Doncic.

Milwaukee Bucks, who are now 24-4 on the season with their first loss since the November 8th game against Utah jazz, will now host LeBron James’ Lakers who are 24-3 on the season in what will be the match between conference leaders.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who took the lead of team in this match with 48 points and 14 rebounds, said of the upcoming big match, “It is going to be a big test for us. The Lakers are currently one of the best teams in the league. We will need to play our best game.  We would need to move the ball. Obliviously we must play as a team because we do not want to lose 2 games in a row.”

This now broken winning streak was the biggest for the franchise since 1970’s season where they had 20-game win streak featuring players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, and Lew Alcindor.

Mike Budenholzer, the coach for Bucks said, “I am proud as to how my guys played till the very last second of the game. To find a way to be close in the 4th and have the offensive rebound and give ourselves a chance, in my opinion, I think it’s just a sign of this group’s competitive nature.”

Doncic could not star for Dallas Mavericks in this game because of his right ankle sprain while Bucks were missing their star point guard Eric Bledsoe.

Up next, Bucks will host a game against LA Lakers while Dallas Mavericks will host a game against the Boston Celtics.
