Fitzgerald VS Fowler; Scott Fitzgerald defeats Anthony Fowler in the final round and gains split decision win

On Saturday night boxing fight between Scott Fitzgerald and Anthony Fowler, Fitzgerald fought a thriller rivalry match against Fowler to defeat him at the Liverpool M&M Bank Arena.

Victory did not come to Fitzgerald easily as he had to fight a troubling 9th round before he managed to drop Fowler in the final round as he claimed the split decision win over the home favorite. This was the first professional defeat of Fowler.

The former team GB teammates fought each other in the opening rounds at the center of the ring as they traded abs and body shots.

Fowler managed to find his reach in the 2nd round with his left punch but the Preston Man still managed to hold his ground until the round ended.

The third round saw Fitzgerald finding his own rhythm as he began connecting body shots on his opponent’s body. By the 4th round, Fitzgerald’s 2 powerful right-hand counters did considerable damage to Fowler.

The round 5 was the slowest as they both fighters tried to find their breath. Suddenly Fowler pounced with a fast combination but his efforts were halted with a nasty cut over his left eye.

Fitzgerald came onto 6th round as he worked on Fowler’s body and backed him up to the corner. Fowler responded to his opponent’s attack but Fitzgerald shrugged him off.

Fowler, who previously in his career never fought past 6 rounds, happened to catch by a huge right hand at the end of the 11th round.

Fitzgerald seemed to be attacking his opponent with sharper punches during the 8th round but he was reprimanded by the referee for the use of the head.
