Fournier leads Orlando Magic as hold off the Philadelphia 76ers for 98-97 victory

The Friday night game of Orlando magic VS Philadelphia 76ers could not have ended more perfect than the way it did for the Magic and they could not even complain about their earlier performance of the night.

Evan Fournier led Orlando Magic with his 20 points as they survived a near loss condition in the final minute of the game to grab hold of 98-97 victory against the Phillies on Friday night.

Steve Clifford, the coach for Orlando Magic said, “The end was not that great but we still cleaned that up. That was a good win against a good team.”

Aaron Gordon scored 19 points with 11 rebounds while Nikola Vucevic added in his 16 points with 12 rebounds as Orlando Magic won their 2nd game in a row.

Fournier said, “It felt like the Magic basketball tonight as far as the preparation and defense of the game was concerned. They were the top team in the Eastern Conference and we were ready for this fight.  We need to be like this for every coming game.”

As for the 76ers, they were led by Joel Embidd and Tobias Harris both of them had 24 points with 11 rebounds as the team’s 3-game winning streak ended. Embidd had missed a 30-footer shot which could have had ended up in a game-winner at the buzzer.

The last 4 goals from 76ers were 3-pointer that allowed for the visitors to have a winning chance.  Embidd hit them with only 51 seconds to the play that allowed for the deficit of 98-97 to be cut down.

Up next, the 76ers will be having a road game on Monday night against the Miami Heat while the Orlando Magic will take on the Milwaukee Bucks for a road game.
