Gasol pitches in, Raptors send Knicks to 16th loss in row by 104-99

Marc Gasol, before his first game with the Toronto Raptors, felt like a new kid at school.

To be prepared before his first game with raptors, Gasol rained with the Raptors assistant coach Sergio Scariolo who was also his first coach on the Spanish national team.

Gasol after Raptors win against the New York Knicks by 104-99 on Saturday night said, “obviously I asked him a lot of questions about what should be happening in every situation of the game. At the end of the day, it is all about your own reading and reactions and the understanding as to where you are going to get the ball and what kind of shot are you going to make.”

Gasol scored 7 points and 6 rebounds with Toronto Raptors as they sent the New York Knicks for their 16th loss in a row this season.

With this Knicks have tied their franchise record of most losses.

The 7-footer Gasol, who spent most of his time with Grizzlies in his career, is going to become a free agent after the season concludes.

Kyle Lowy led the Raptors with his 22 points while Serge Ibaka scored 15 points and 13 rebounds for the team. Green and Norman Powell from Raptors side both scored 14 points each as they won their third game in a row and all of them are won on road.

As for New York Knicks, they were led by rookie Kevin Knox, who scored 20 points while DeAndre Jordan scored 10 points with 18 rebounds. The last game that New York Knicks won was against the LA Lakers back on January 4th. Knicks have now lost 29 of their last 31 games and 16 straight games. Knicks last lost 16th straight games in the season of 2014-15.

Up next, Toronto Raptors will host a game against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night while New York Knicks will host a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
