Gordon Brand Junior, the former golfer of the Europe Ryder Cup team dies at age 60

Gordon Brand Junior, the former golfer of the Europe Ryder Cup died at age 60 years old. He was part of the 1987’s Europe Ryder Cup winning team that was captained by Tony Jacklin. That was a historic moment for Europe on the American soil.

The Scottish golfer helped the team with his 1.5 points on way to the team’s 10.5 to 5.5 points victory. He was also the part of the team for the 2 years as they went on to win the trophy at The Belfry.




Brand Jr. followed the footstep of his father to become a professional golfer and also went on to win European Tour’s 8 tournaments in between years 1982 to 1993.

The news was announced by the European Senior Tour in a tweet saying, “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Gordon Brand Jnr. Our deepest sympathies are with his family at this time.”

He also won 2 of the senior tour titles along with making his last appearance at the Swiss Open back in July of 2019.
