Gordon scores 50 as Houston Rockets beats Utah Jazz by 126-117

Eric Gordon was once more feeling like himself as he took the offensive approach. That was the good news for the Houston Rockets.

Gordon scored his career-high of 50 points as the short-handed Houston Rockets won over Utah Jazz by 126-117 as the Rockets were missing the Russell Westbrook and James harden.

In the stat line which resembled that of harden, Gordon made 14 of his 22 shots from the field as he scored 6 of hi 13 3-pointer shots and 16 of his 20 throws from the free line. He has become the first player of Houston Rockets who has scored 50 points in a game beside James Harden and Hakeem Olajuwon. Only Harden has done the feat 23 times in his career.

Gordon, who had his knee surgery back in November said, “I feel like I am getting back to my old self. I told everyone that when you undergo surgery during the season, it is always going to be a process.”

Houston Rockets were in need of this Gordon burst as their key players like James harden, Russell Westbrook and Clint Capela were sitting out. This was the first game for Gordon were scored more than 30 points. His previous career-best was 41 points which came in a game against Oklahoma City back in 2009.

Austin Rivers, the teammate of Gordon said “You must marvel in it.  He is like a bowling ball when he drives it to the basket. Dude seems to bounce off of him. He is so low to the ground and he is so much strong.”

Harden missed his 2nd game in a row due to his bruised left thigh while Capela was out due to the heel injury and Westbrook sitting out after the Sunday game.”

Up next, Houston Rockets will play against the Portland Trail Blazers while the Utah jazz will play against the San Antonio Spurs.
