Khabib Nurmagomedov urges Georges St-Pierre to postpone retirement

Khabib Nurmagomedov; the UFC Lightweight Champion has urged Georges St-Pierre to fight him in the octagon. St-Pierre; the Canadian UFC mixed martial arts fighter is set to announce his retirement soon.




According to the reports from Canada, ST-Pierre with his career record of 26-2 is set to announce his retirement from the sport in Montreal in a news conference to be held on Thursday. He will also address the negotiations for a fight with Nurmagomedov there.

St-Pierre is the former two-weight UFC champion who has not fought a fight since November of 2017. His last fight that year was against the British MA fighter Michael Bisping at the Madison Square Garden in which he won the UFC Middleweight title.

As for Nurmagomedov who has the career record of 27-0, successfully defended his UFC lightweight title in his fight against Connor McGregor last year; urged St-Pierre to reconsider his decision of having a retirement.

Nurmagomedov wrote in an Instagram post,

“Let’s do it in November. After this fight, you can retire. I grow up on your fights, and have nothing but respect for you, and I believe showed that to you George when you were in Moscow. But, it would be honor for me to share Octagon with one of the greatest fighters of all time. Let’s do it 155 lbs, or I give away 5lbs to you, cause you never done 155. Well, it’s your choice 155 or 160, Montreal, NYC, Moscow or Abu Dhabi. Send me location my friend.”
