Lomachenko vs. Crolla: King Vasyl Lomachenko knocks out Anthony Crolla in a pound-for-pound match

Anthony Crolla who was bidding to dethrone Vasyl Lomachenko from his WBOI and WBA lightweight titles got knocked out in 4 rounds by his Ukrainian opponent in a pound for pound match.

Crolla earlier boasted to the world to shock them. However, the mandatory challenger suffered a one-sided defeat against the pound for pound superstar at the fight which was held in Staples Center in Los Angeles.




The cagey opening round of the fight saw Lomachenko coming to the center of the ring as he moved in and out of his opponent’s range by using his elegant footwork.

The three weight champion made use of his speed to use his southpaw jab in the 2nd round to corner Crolla and then landing left hands on his opponent’s body and head.

After landing a heavy left and an uppercut in the 3rd round, Lomachenko forced Crolla on the ropes where he again unleashed a flurry of devastating punches which were unanswered by his opponent. At this point, referee Jack Reiss was forced to intervene in the fight.

Lomachenko started to celebrate as the security also entered the ring. However, as Reiss started the countdown, the bell rung and sounded the end of the 3rd round.

Lomachenko ensured of his victory came again to pound his opponent in the 4th round and landed a right hook on Crolla’s temple that sent the 32 years old challenger to the canvas face down first.

Reiss started the count but then gave up on the condition of Crolla who was checked over by the doctor. Crolla after some time finally managed to stand back on his feet unsteadily but the fight was long ended.
