Manny Pacquiao is set to fight against Keith Thurman for the WBA title in July

Manny Pacquiao is all set to face Keith Thurman in an effort to win his WBA super welterweight title on July 20th.

As for the venue of the fight, it has not been disclosed as of now. This is going to be Manny’s first fight since he gained a one sided victory back in January against Adrien Broner.

Thurman with a carrier record of being the unbeaten fighter with 29 wins, defeated Josesito Lopez is his last fight which was also held back in January. This fight for Thurman was followed by his 22 months long absence from the sport after undergoing an elbow surgery.

After Thurman won his fight with Lopez, he told media about a possible fight against Pacquiao. He said to media at that time, “many Pacquiao is not going to be coming to the ring in many tears from now. He is just going to be a fighting legend and the clock is ticking. Sometime later this year, if the opportunity for a fight with him comes, I will be open for negotiations as I would love to have a fight with a legend.”

He further said, “He is not going to be the young Pacquiao that he once was but still he is a great world class fighter. If we get a fight with such a fighter, we would be happy to do it for not only ourselves but for our fans too.”

Pacquiao has a career record of 61-7-2 in a boxing career which spans over 24 years. He currently holds the WBA Regular Belt.

As for Thurman, a Florida based fighter, he has defeated names like Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter.
