Marseille beats Bordeaux by 3-1 for their 6th consecutive French League win

Marseille has managed to maintain itself as a club that can threaten the position of Paris Saint Germain in the French League as they won their Sunday league game against Bordeaux by 3-1. With this win, Marseille ahs won 6th straight games of their Franc League.

The 9-time champion club, Marseille has now gained a 6-point lead over the 3rd place Lille in the league.

Marseille, trailing by 1-0 by the halftime, made a rally with Jordan Amavi and Morgan Sanson scoring two goals respectively at the Velodrome Stadium. The last goal for Marseille was scored in the stoppage time which was awarded to Aurelien Tchouameni of Bordeaux, who deflected the goal shot from Nemanja Radonjic.

Bordeaux seemed as if they had a solid game plan and were playing superbly by the first half. After the break time, the team seemed to have slumped as Amavi leveled the game for Marseille with a header and then a Sanson taking the lead for a team with a 20-meter strike.

 

With this win, Marseille has become the first team in the French League to have won 6 games in a row which is their best game winning streak since 2014, when they won 8 games consecutively.

As for Bordeaux, they now slump to fifth place in the rankings of the French League, which is 13 points less than the PSG.

In the other games of the day and the league, Ludovic Blas of the Nantes scored a goal in the 73rd minute to allow team win over Dijon by 1-0. Now they also move up the rankings with only 2 points shy from the top 3 spots.

The current ranking of Nantes in the French League is 6th which is 13 points behind the PSG, but they are back in the contention of the European spots.
