Mbappé scores 2 against his former club as PSG beats Monaco by 4-1 in French League game

Kylian Mbappé had 2 goals playing for PSG in their French League game against Monaco on Wednesday as they won the game by 4-1. With Kylian Mbappé’s 2 goals against his former team, PSG is now 8 points clear at the top of the French League standings.

Both teams earlier in their match held on Sunday drew 3-3 in Paris and was inarguably one of the best games of the French League yet. But this time though, PSG kept attacking Monaco and exposed their defense, which is one of the worst in the French League.

Neymar, standing at the penalty spot, along with teammate Pablo Sarabia made 2 goals for the PSG whereas the only goal for Monaco was scored by Tiemoué Bakayoko late in the 2nd half as they stand at 9th place in French League.

Neymar went in close during the 18th minute when his extravagant pass from Mbappé’s cross coming from the left allowed him to safely net it past the Monaco goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.

As for Mbappé, he also made no mistake on his chance during the 24th minute as he latched on tight to a pass made from Angel Di Maria from right flank and controlled the ball with a simple touch and then advanced in for a low shot to move past Lecomte.

Still, after scoring goals against his former club, Mbappé never celebrated as he had previously won the French League title with Monaco and also reached with them to the semifinals of the 2017 Champions League; Before he went on to join PSG for a deal of about 200 million dollars.

22 years old Mbappé said, “You still have to show respect to your old team. I was discovered there. I experienced the first big moments of my career there.”

In other matches of the French League, Rennes defeated the struggling Nimes by 1-0 to gain a tight grip on 3rd place.
