Miami Open; Kyle Edmund defeats Milos Raonic and reach the last 16

Kyle Edmund, the British no. 1 managed to move into the 4th round of the Miami Open to play against the defending champion John Isner after he defeated Milos Raonic by 6-4 and 6-4.

Edmund is slowly but surely making it back to his past best form as he was 12 months ago as he got an impressive win over the 12th seed player Milos Raonic. Milos Raonic had also been a strong rival for Edmund as he managed to earlier reach the semi-finals of the Indian Wells under the tough training of the new coach named Mark Hilton.

If all goes well, Kyle Edmund could be facing a quarterfinals match against the World rank no. 1 Novak Djokovic. Djokovic himself got to the 4th round overnight after defeating Federico Delbonis in straight sets but before that anticipated match, Edmund needs to beat Isner who won the earlier won a title at the Crandon Park earlier this year.

Isner got a victory over the Spanish player Albert Ramos Vinolas by 7-5 and 7-6 as he fired 16 aces.  This will be the 3rd professional meeting of Edmund and Isner on the court.

Both players have practiced in Miami before the tournament started and they have won 1 match against each other until now. Edmund won their last meeting back in the 2016’s US Open fourth round.

As for Djokovic, he defeated his opponent by 7-5, 4-6 and 6-1 as he now faces the fourth round oppo3net Roberto Bautista Agut.

The match was a tough one as the world no. 1 had to play for 2 hours before getting the victory.

Another match of Sunday night played between Nick Kyrigios and Dusan Lajovic ended with a win for Kyrigios after less than 1 hour.

The game between two was halted for some time after a supporter of the player had a verbal run-in with the umpire and was ejected out.
