Neymar leads PSG’s win over Reims to reach the finals of League Cup

The game for the League Cup held between the PSG and Reims ended with a 3-0 win for the PSG. With this win, the PSG now moves to the final of League Cup where they will play against Lyon.

PSG had one of their key players sent off with only 20 minutes left to the game, but by that time, they already had a 2-0 lead in the semifinal game of League Cup.

Marquinhos, the Brazilian center half of PSG rose well near back post as he headed in a fating shot from Neymar into the net during the 9th minute.

For the next goal for PSG, Neymar managed to strike on a free kick from the left that then eluded the head of Marquinhos but then turned into the net after PSG’s defender named Ghislain Konan kicked it in during the 31st minute.

Moments after this, Marshall Munetsi, the midfielder of PSG was shown a red card for him clattering into Reims’ Marco Verratti from back. Even after he left the game, PSG was still able to score a goal during the 77th minute.

Neymar was able to score it by clipping the pass from the Leandro Paredes and with his perfect volley from the penalty area’s edge to hit the post. Predrag Rajkovic; the goalkeeper for Reims stopped it by the ball had hit the post and the 17 years old defender of PSG Tanguy Kouassi simply tipped it inside the net.

Tempers started flaring up on both team’s benches after Rajkovic got booked for shoving PSG’s Kylian Mbappé from behind and knocked him over. But in his defense it was justified as Mbappé had minutes earlier, kicked the ball away from Rajkovic when he was preparing for a kick. For scooping the ball, Mbappé received a yellow card.

As for the final of League Cup, it will be held on 4th April, 2020.

As for the other semifinals of League Cup held between Lille and Lyon, Lyon won in the shootout as the game had earlier finished at 2-2.
