Pelicans lose Davis but beat Thunder by 131-122

Anthony Davis’s face was grimaced with pain as he did not move his arm and left the court at halftime.

It is still not confirmed if this will be last time that Davis plays in the Pelicans uniform or he even plays in the All-Star game.

However, Julius Randall scored 33 points with 11 rebounds as he clutched three crucial baskets in the last three minutes of the game while Jrue Holiday scored 32 points to lead the Pelicans to win over the OKC Thunder by 131-122 on Thursday night despite the lost Davis due to a shoulder injury.

Davis, who has previously asked for a trade, left the Smoothie Center with his agent Rich Paul to have an MRI Scan the results of which are expected a day later.

Coach Alvin Gentry, when asked about Davis leaving the arena lost his calm and said, “I am only going to talk about the guys that played. They did a great job. We found a way to win the game and that is what’s important.” Saying that Gentry stormed off as he ended his postgame interview in an abrupt fashion.

As for the OKC Thunder, they were led by Russell Westbrook who scored 44 points with 14 rebounds and 11 assists to have his record triple-double streak for 11 games.

Westbrook said of the Pelicans, who snapped the Thunder’s four-game winning streak, “they played really good man. Honestly, I do not know about the much of stuff going on tonight. But they won the game tonight and that is all the matters.”

Paul George of Thunder scored 28 points for the team as he only managed to have 3 of 17 3-pointer shots.

Up next, New Orleans Pelicans will host a game against the Indiana Pacers on February 22nd while OKC Thunder will host a game against the Utah Jazz on February 22nd.
