PSL 2019, Match 8; Watson and Rossouw guide Gladiators to an eight-wicket win over Multan Sultans

The sparkling fifties scored by Shane Watson and Rilee Rossouw, helped the Quetta Gladiators to have an eight-wicket win over the Multan Sultans in the 8th match of the PSL held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Quetta Gladiators registered their third win in a row in the fourth edition of the PSL as Watson scored 61 not out and Rossouw scored 67 not out.

Earlier Multan Sultans who opted to bat first set a target of 161 runs for the Quetta Gladiators to chase.

Quetta Gladiators with a loss of their early two wickets managed to chase this target at 18.3 overs. Rossouw with his 67 runs was not out with Umar Akmal scoring.

The toss was won by Multan Sultans who chose to bat first. They scored 160 runs with the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

After the all of the earlier three wickets of the Sultans’ side, Sultans captain, Shoaib Malik started to bat aggressively to provide his team a strong and sold start. Shoaib Malik scored 53 runs off of his 37 balls which included from him 4 boundaries and two sixes.

Team lineup:-

Shan Masood (18), Vince (28), Evans (10), Christian (18), Russell (18) were the other main contributors in Multan Sultans inning. As for the big-hitting Shahid Afridi, he failed to show off his batting or bowling prowess in this match.

Muhammad Irfan (Jr.) and Ghulam Mudassar bowled were for Quetta Gladiators and grabbed two wickets each while Sohail Tanveer, Muhammad Nawaz, and Fawad Ahmed got one wicket each.

Man of the Match:-

For his splendid batting performance from Quetta Gladiators’ side; Shane Watson was declared as the Man of the Match.
