Quetta Gladiators beat Peshawar Zalmi to clinch PSL-4 trophy

On the final match of the PSL-4 played between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi, Ahmed Shehzad and the fast bowler of Gladiators Mohammed Hasnain shined on the pitch as they defeated the Peshawar Zalmi to clinch the PSL-4 Trophy.

As for the closing ceremony, it was devoid of the dancing spark which was done during the opening ceremony to pay the respect to the martyrs of the terror attack which took place earlier this week in Christchurch.

This was the second time that Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi met each other this season.  The Gladiators performed superbly under the lead of Sarfraz Ahmed. This win for Gladiators was the most amazing one as they took home their first ever PSL trophy with an eight-wicket win.

The eliminator heroes from Saturday; Kamran Akmal and Imam Ul Haq both fell rather cheaply in this final match and the middle order of Zalmi without Liam Dawson had nothing to make up for the innings.

The run rate of Zalmi took a severe hit with only Darren Sammy and Keiron Pollard giving out some vibrant shots. As for the rest of the Zalmi’s team, they failed to live up to the expectations.

As for Quetta’s top 5 bowlers, they all brought their best performance in this game. They were evident in their hunger to take home their team’s first trophy.

The 138 for 8 chase target was nothing much to the Quetta Gladiators.

The soon to be 19 years old, Mohammed Hasnain was particularly the star of the Gladiators and of the night with his biggest game of the career. He dropped wicket after wicket from Zalmi’s middle and top order while being stingy on giving them any runs.

As for Zalmi’s bowling side, it was not like they did not tried their best, but their bowlers made huge margin errors on the night still Quetta Gladiators did not get panicked in any situation during their batting.

The match ended with Rossouw hitting the winning runs while Shehzad remained unbeaten with his 51 runs off of 58 balls.
