Simmons leads 76ers with his 31 points to beat Nets without Embiid

Joe Embiid took off his warm-up gear and changed into the street clothes as he could not play anymore due to a sore knee.

76ers, even playing without their All-Star center, managed to fly high in the Game 3.

Ben Simmons took the lead of the team as he scored his career high of 31 points while Tobias Harris scored 29 points with 16 rebounds to help the Philadelphia 76ers win over the Brooklyn Nets by 131-115 on Thursday night. With this win, 76ers now have a 2-1 lead over the Nets in their first-round series of the playoffs.

Simmons said, “We have all the pieces to set games, to compete in them and everyone in our organization knows that.”

Tobias Harris not only had his playoff high in scores but also in rebounds too. As for JJ Reddick, he finished for the team with his 26 points.

Kenny Atinkson, Nets coach said, “I think, tonight big players came to play. Ben had a great game while Reddick also was great. Tobias also shot some great 3s.”

As for Embiid, he warmed up for the game but shortly before the game, 76ers announced that he won’t be playing tonight due to a sore knee. He was replaced by Greg Monroe who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds.

As for Nets, they were led by both D’Angelo Russell and Caris LeVert as both of them scored 26 points for the team. Surprisingly Nets have now lost 2 games against the no. 3 seeded 76ers in the opening round.

Jarrett Allen, Nets center said, “Without a doubt when a great player of opposing team sits out, you need to take advantage of that. We just could not perform on this advantage.”

As for Jimmy Butler, he scored 16 points for the 76ers while Boban Marjanovic scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
