Smith vs. Eggington: Liam Smith defeats Sam Eggington to a stoppage victory

In the main Saturday night boxing fight on Smith VS Eggington Bill, Liam Smith made a short work of Sam Eggington as he gained the stoppage win over the Liverpool City’s home favorite.

In their match, Liam Smith, the former world champion, proved himself to be many classes above Sam Eggington as he started inflicting damage on his opponent as soon as the bell sounded in the opening round. He continued his beating until the referee had to intervene and stop the fight.

Smith, who is looking for another world title, said after the fight, “Give me two fights then I will fight anyone.”

As soon as the exchange starting happening between the two fighters, Smith jab was a prominent cause of trouble for Eggington. It was made clear with his barrage of punches that Eggington lacks both size and power to compete in this heavy trading of punches.

Eggington, whose right eye had earlier swollen in the first round, was also saved in the 2nd round after the bell sounded with his head being rocked backward due to a vicious punch from Smith.

After that, Eggington was only fighting in the survival mode as Smith ended only 3 more rounds to defeat his opponent. His heavy shots were not at all answered by Eggington who was stopped on his feet.

With this win, Smith, who earlier held on to the WBO light-middleweight belt, is now able to earn the right for competing for another world title. Smith only had two career defeats, one was against Saul Canelo Alvarez and other was against Jaime Munguia.
