Stuttgart Open; Berrettini beats Auger-Aliassime to win the grass court title

In the finals of the Stuttgart Open between Matteo Berrettini, and the Canadian 18-year-old player Felix Auger-Aliassime, Berrettini came on top to win his third tour-level title by a 6-4 and 7-6 vacuity.

The Italian player managed to save 5 set points during the second tiebreaker as he clinched his first ever title on grass court. His other titles include him winning the Budapest Open back in April as well as Gstaad and Switzerland Open back last year.

As for his opponent, the teenager Felix Auger-Aliassime, he reached the championship matches of the Rio De Janeiro back in February and also managed to reach the Lyon Open final back in May. Both of these tournaments were on clay courts.

For Berrettini, this was a fulfilling week as he won his entire 50 service games of the tournament and in his match against Felix Auger-Aliassime; he never suffered from a break point.

Earlier Felix Auger-Aliassime moved to the finals of the tournament after his semi-finals opponent and fellow countryman Milos Raonic withdraw due to back problems.
