Talks are done; LeBron welcomes Anthony Davis Jr. to LA Lakers

Finally, the rumors, which has been surrounding Anthony Davis Jr. the former Pelicans star player about his possible trade, are done as Anthony Davis Jr. now heads to Los Angeles Lakers.

The big man of the New Orleans Pelicans agreed to a blockbuster of an NBA trade ending the speculations as he shakes the NBA landscape with this move.

With some words said and some signatures, the Los Angeles Lakers, who have not made it to the postseason for 6 seasons in a row, are now once again back in the contention for the NBA title. They already have LeBron James and now they have Davis too. As for LeBron, he could not be happier about it.

34 years old James took it to Instagram to welcome his new teammate.

He wrote as follows,

“AD on da way!! @antdavis23. Let’s get it bro! Just the beginning.. #LakeShow”

James wrote this caption to an edited photo where he stands next to Davis on the court while both of them wear Lakers’ jerseys.

Davis is currently being represented by the “Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group” which is the same agency that represents LeBron James. Davis had been in talks with Lakers since January but the deal was never made.

As for James, he made comments such as to how amazing it would be if he got to play with Davis alongside. His comments frustrated many of the small market general managers associated with the NBA.

Despite everything, James got his wish.

Davis still has one more year on his contract and is going to hit the free agency in 2020 and then he is certainly going to sign a long-term deal with Lakers in the summer of 2020.
