Tatar and Weber scored on power play as Montreal Canadiens defeated Canucks by 3-1

The special team of the Montreal Canadiens was credited by Max Domi for giving the team their latest win on Tuesday night.

Tomas Tatar and Shea Weber both scored a goal respectively in the power play with only 1:34 minutes apart during the 3rd period to let Montreal Canadiens win over Canucks by 3-1.

Domi said, “That was gutsy character win for sure on the road. They had some really great opportunities on the power play and our PK was really great. We capitalized on our power play.  We grinded it out.”

The third goal for the Montreal Canadiens was scored by Nick Cousins as they win their 4th game in the last 5. Joel Armia and Domi both added 2 assists while Montreal Canadiens goalkeeper Carey Price made 38 saves.

Going into power play, Canadiens were 2 for 2 after they went 0 for 1 in their 2-1 loss on Saturday night against Detroit and this time they held Vancouver Canucks 1 for 4.

Tatar said, “We needed one.  Last game we did not get one and it gave us a spark for sure.”

The only goal for the Vancouver Canucks was scored by Adam Gaudette while their goalie Jacob Markstrom stopped 27 shots who have now lost 3 games in a row and their 4th in the last 5 games.

Travis Green, the coach for Canucks said, “Frustration is going to happen and it is rightfully so. I really don’t mind this frustration but our team should be, they need to raise their game. At times like these, you need to raise your game, each and every person.”

Up next for Montreal Canadiens is a Thursday night game against the Calgary Flames for their 2nd of the 7-game road trip.

As for the Vancouver Canucks, they will now host a game on Thursday night against Vegas for their 2nd of the 7 home games in a row.
