The top seed as well as the defending champion of the Rogers Cup has managed to advance into the quarterfinals of the tournament after his 6-3, and a 6-4 win over Guido Paella of Argentina.

Nadal said of his win, “the day was a tough one because of wind. But we are still sued to playing like this. When the game is played outdoors, it is part of the game. Of course, it is still better to play without this type of harsh wind.”

He continued, “At the same time, it is great to play under tough conditions as each player has different options and the best once has the better chances to survive. It is about adapting and then focusing mentally.”
