Untraded Davis scores 32 as Pelicans beat Wolves by 122-117

It did not take Anthony Davis too long to win back the crowd after he was booed and jeered at by the crowd in the pregame introduction. He also handled the ball too well on the court.

However, the pelicans decided to close out a tight game without Davis on the court but they narrowly pulled off a win.

Playing after he was about to be traded for the first time, Davis scored 32 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks in his 25 minutes of play as the New Orleans Pelicans won over the Minnesota Timberwolves by 122-117 on Friday night.

Davis said that hearing the ‘boos’ did surprise him a bit as it was “definitely awkward”. He added to his statement, “That’s life man. Some people are not going to like it. I worry only about playing basketball. I just love the game and love applying basketball. Me and all these guys here have a special bond, so I obviously want to be with them on the floor with them. They just wanted me on the floor. It’s just as simple as that.”

Davis further added to his statement, “the other stuff, those Twitter rants all the other outside noise; it’s all good. It does not bother me. I played just fine for 25 minutes, it was fun.”

Jrue Holiday scored 27 points with 90 assists while Kenrich Williams scored 19 points for the Pelicans who made a strong offense in the fourth quarter.

As for Minnesota Timberwolves, they were led by Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored 32 points as the Wolves got defeated for the fourth straight time. Andrew Wiggins from Wolves’ side scored 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, who are playing their third straight game at the road and were coming off a loss from Thursday night against the Orlando Magic.

Up next, Minnesota Timberwolves will play against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night while New Orleans Pelicans will play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night.
