US Open; Roger Federer shockingly defeated by john Millman in the fourth round

The recently emerging Tennis star of Australia; John Millman shocked the entire tennis world when he defeated the legendry Roger Federer at the fourth round of US Open tournament. This allowed him to make it to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Millman was not given much of an importance, whereas there was already excitement building for a clash between Federer and Djokovic.

29 years old Millman had never beaten any of the top ten best players, in the start already had no chance of winning. In fact in the first set, the match seemed in favor of Federer but Millman managed to gain the victory after making points 3-6, 7-5, 7-6, and 7-6.

While Millman was making one of the best performances of his life yet, Federer was actually struggling to hold out while giving the poorest career performance. He approximately made 76 unforced errors that cost him this match.

Since 2015’s Australian Open; this actually the earliest defeat for Federer at a Grand Slam tournament whereas it is for the very first time he has been defeated by any player outside Top 50 ranked players in New York.

In his previous match against Nick Kyrgios, Federer managed to find his pace gradually during the match. However against Millman, Federer just could not find his game spirit.

The main reason for his defeat was that Federer’s serves in the overall match were poor and especially in the first two sets. Federer is regarded as a player who does not sweat was spotted perspiring heavily in the midst of match and it was all not due to humidity.

The crowd that was seeing the match could not believe their eyes as to what they were rally seeing. Successive double faults caused him to be on back foot as there was no point of return for Federer and he eventually lost the match.
