Williams VS Hurd; Julian Williams claims the WBA and IBF super-welterweight titles as he defeats Jarrett Hurd to

In a fight between Julian Williams and the previously undefeated champion Jarrett Hurd, Williams was not able to defeat his opponent but also claim his WBA Super and IBF Super Welterweight belts.

Williams, whose career record is 27-1-1, knocked his opponent Hurd down once in the second round on his way to a unanimous points decision victory. The fight was held in Fairfax, Virginia at the EagleBank Arena.

The judges scored in favor of Williams with scores of 116-111, 115-112 and 115-112 who is now an undefeated champion in his last 5 fights.

His last defeat was back in 2016, a 5th round knockout loss against Jermall Charlo for the bout of IBF Super Welterweight belt.

Williams said, “They told me that I was one and that I had no chin. Jarrett is certainly a great fighter, he pushed me a lot. I was so motivated because everyone doubted me. I turned both my Twitter and Instagram account off. I blocked both good and bad stuff out of me.  The boxing world, they say that when a boxer takes a loss, they can’t come back form it but I knew it was not the case. Stop condemning fighters after they take a loss.”

After congratulating Williams after the fight, Hurd immediately called for a rematch.

Hurd said, “J Rock was a better fighter than me tonight. He was the man to put me down for the first time in my career and he came out winning. There is definitely a rematch clause in our contract and I am going for it. I am going to make a return to the ring better than I was tonight.”
