Wimbledon; Cori Gauff makes it to 4th round as she won over Polona Hercog

15 years old qualifier from America, Cori Gauff has progressed to the 4th round of the Wimbledon this year after she won over her opponent Polona Hercog in a comeback win.




The teenage player was able to fight her win all the way from near defeat to win over the world rank no. 60 from Slovenia by 3-6, 7-6 and 7-5 in a match that was 2 hours and 45 minutes long and held at Center Court.

With this win, the sensational player will now face the former world rank no. 1 Simona Halep in the 4th round on Monday.

Earlier on the day at the very same court, Simona Halep was able to easily defeat her opponent, the former world rank no. 1 Victoria Azarenka.

Azarenka, the 2 times winner of the Grand Slam events was leading the first set by 3-1 but then lost 11 of her 12 games on her way to a 6-3, and a 6-1 defeat in which she made 33 unforced errors.
