ATP Finals title in London; Alexander Zverev stuns Novak Djokovic to win the final match

Alexander Zverev has become the first German player ever in 23 years to lift the season ending ATP Finals trophy after he defeated his opponent; the world rank no.1 Novak Djokovic on Sunday night.

Zverev managed to display his impressive talent of tennis to win against the tournament favorite Novak Djokovic in front of a huge crowd at the London’s O2 Arena by 6-4 and 6-3.

Djokovic mainlined his winning streak throughout the weekend was looking to equal with Roger Federer for inning 6 ATP Finals tournaments. He won 35 of his 37 matches since July after making up for the time lost due to his elbow surgery. In his five months comeback, he won Wimbledon, US Open, Cincinnati and Shanghai Masters title.

In their previous two meetings, Djokovic lost to Zverev at the Rome Master and then Djokovic lost to Zverev in Shanghai Masters. Djokovic again defeated his young opponent here in the round robin stage.

However, Zverev after making it to the semi finals stunned the crowd with his victory over Roger Fearer and then he displayed is life’s greatest performance as he defeated the red hot favorite Novak Djokovic in the final.

The match was so strainful for Zverev that after winning he collapsed down on his back as Novak Djokovic walked sportingly over to him and congratulated him.
