Davis scores 41 to lead LA Lakers win over Pelicans by 114-110 and shuts down booing crowd

Anthony Davis shrugged off under the loud sounds of boos hurled towards him from the Pelicans fan crowd after Davis, who is with LA Lakers now, what it is to lose a 6-time All-Star in a trade.

Davis was able to score 41 points against his old team in his rerun to New Orleans as he interpreted the inbound pass from Jrue Holiday with only 5 seconds to the clock and made a pair of free throws to lead LA Lakers 114-110 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. With this win, LA Lakers are now on the 9-game win streak of the season.

Davis said, “Obviously, playing here was a high of emotions. I personally think that this game was circled on calendars of both teams and their fans. They came out blazing and we were ready for it and were able to overcome them and came out with the victory.”

During the introductions, Davis was booed at by the crowd every time he even touched the ball. This prompted his teammate LeBron James to take over him during the 4th quarter.

James who had a total of 29 points along with 11 assists, scored 15 points during the final period of the game whereas Kyle Kuzma, who scored 16 points, scored 9 points in the last period as well.

Davis said, “My teammates kept on telling me AD, do not worry, we are going to get this win.  We will find a way to win this one for you.” Davis has spent first 7 years of his NBA career playing with the Pelicans.

Kuzma was able to give his team a lead with a 3-pointer from the corner of the court with only 1 minute tot eh game making the score to be 111-109.

From Pelicans’ side, they were led by Holiday with his 29 points along with 12 assists. As for Brandon Ingram, he scored 23 points with 10 rebounds. With this loss, Pelicans have lost 3 games consecutively.

Up next for LA Lakers will be a game home stand where they will play first against the Washington Wizards this Friday night. For the Pelicans, they will have a road game in Oklahoma City this Friday night as well.
