Griffin scores 37 as Pistons hold off Pelicans by 98-94

Blake Griffin gave the Pistons a hot start in the Wednesday night game o basketball against the Davis less New Orleans Pelicans. However, they still had to make the victory hard against the Pelicans in the final seconds.

Griffin who scored 37 points out of which 20 points were scored by him in the fourth quarter was able to lead the Pistons or a win over Pelicans by 98-94 on Wednesday night.

Reggie Jackson of the Pistons added in his 17 points. This was Pistons first win after losing 7 games out of their last 10 games.

Pelicans

As for Pelicans, they were led by Jrue Holiday who scored 29 points while Jahlil Okafor scored 17 points. With this loss, Pelicans have lost 4 of their last 7 games.

New Orleans

New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry said, “We just struggled for the whole night. In the end, we tried to make a push back. We were able to make some game-winning plays and we went for them. Sadly we were not able to do them all. We failed to find the consistency in what we were trying to do. Lot of it is on me.”

Jon Leuer of the Pistons who scored 11 points and 6 rebounds for the team said, we just kept feeding shots to Griffin, when he finds his rhythm, he is unstoppable”.

Detroit Pistons

Detroit Pistons will end their three-game trip with a game in Dallas on Thursday night while New Orleans Pelicans will play against the Oklahoma City Thunders on Thursday night.
