James Harden scores 42 points as Rockets defeat Celtics by 115-104

James Harden and his team Houston Rockets are at their best condition in a  game when they are making lots of 3-pointers, getting points of the paint along with raking in some points from the foul line.

In their Sunday’s game against Boston Celtics, this is exactly what Rockets did as they won against a team that is renowned for continuing its struggle till the end.

Harden managed to score 42 points before he was fouled out of the game late in the fourth quarter. However, Houston Rockets still held off Boston Celtics to win the game by 115-104.  This was Rockets’ 5th consecutive win.

Harden with his 6 3-pointer shots managed to score 42 points which now makes this his 24th game with 40 or more points scored. With their current performance, Rockets are now at the fifth place in the Western Conference. They are behind both OKC Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers by only one game.

Harden said, “we are healthy again and so yes, it feels really good. We are winning again. All the guys know their roles as we are executing ourselves defensively, helping each other on the court and talking.  That’s all about it.”

As for Boston Celtics, since the All-Star break, they have now lost 5 of their last 6 games. In the game, they were led by Kyrie Irving, who scored 24 points with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. As for Al Horford, he finished for the night with his 19 points.

Horford said, “We have had some really great moments this season but as of right now, we are in kind of a rough patch. This is when we must make sure to be staying together.”

Things are not going to become easier for Celtics as they are preparing for their four-game road trip. In this road trip, they will be playing against Golden State Warriors with teams like LA Lakers and LA Clippers also waiting their turn.
