Ben Simmons of 76ers hits Raptors’ Kyle Lowry with an elbow to the groin

Things took a hurting turn during the Thursday night Game 3 between Philadelphian 76ers and Toronto Raptors as Ben Simmons accidentally hit Raptors Kyle Lowry in the groin with an elbow.

The incident happened during the 2nd quarter of the game when both pliers were jockeying for the ball near the Sixers basket. Simmons jumped over the back of Lowry in order to reach for a rebound.

Simmons unable to get the ball fell on the floor with Lowry standing above him. Simmons then swung his left elbow upwards and that connected straight to the groin area of Lowry.

Lowry taking the hit, fell down on the floor in pain and laid there for several minutes as his team got the rebound and pushed back on the other end. Referees were not able to see the act in action and thus no foul was called on the play.

After the game, Lowry said that he did not think that Simon’s elbow was an intentional one.

Lowry said, “It’s nothing. He said that he did not mean to do it. I am also not going to dwell on something that was not called. It is what it is. It’s not a big thing.”
