Curry scores 36 as Warriors beat Kings by 125-123

Fresh off his amazing MVP performance at the All-star game, Kevin Durant made sure that Golden State Warriors were on the right course for the playoffs.

This was not all as Durant also gave Sacramento Kings’ most valuable rookie Marvin Bagley III a lesson on defense.

Durant led the Warriors as he scored 28 points with 9 rebounds and also tying up his career-best 7 blocks as Warriors survived a rash start to beat Sacramento Kings by 125-123 on Thursday night.

Golden State coach Steve Kerr said, “Kevin was absolutely amazing and perfect in every aspect; the energy, the aggressiveness, and the cutting. As for defense, he was all over the place. He was really on his game tonight.”

Durant’s five blocks came against Kings prized rookie Bagley who is the second overall draft pick. All 5 of these blocks came in the first half.

Durant said, “I just got lucky. Marvin is a rookie so he practically showed me the ball. I was only swiping it away.”

As for other players of Warriors, Stephen Curry scored 36 points with 10 3-pointers while DeMarcus Cousins added in his 17 points and 10 rebounds for the team in his first game after signing with the Warriors this past offseason.

Warriors were led behind Curry’s 11 points most of the first half of the game. Golden State Warriors have played four games against Sacramento Kings this season and have won all of them.

However, Kings are improving as Steve Kerr said; “they are getting tough to guard. Down the stretch, it felt like they were getting every offensive board. In order to squeak out this win, we had some late contributions from Steph and KD along with Klay’s big baskets.”

As for Kings, they were led by Bagley who scored 28 points with 14 rebounds while Hield added in his 19 points and 7 rebounds and De’Aaron Fox added in his 18 points and 8 assists.
