Harden leads Rockets to eliminate Jazz with a 100-93 win

In the first round series, where their shots were not falling as well as they were hoping, Houston Rockets still managed to close out the series with a tough defense.

 

James Harden led the Houston Rockets with his 26 points as Rockets eliminate Jazz out of the playoffs with a 100-93 win on Wednesday night.  Rockets managed to clinch the series by 4-1.

With this win, Houston Rockets now advance to the semifinals of the Western Conference for the 3rd time in a row where they will face off against the winner of the LA Clippers VS Golden State Warriors playoff series.

In the game, Rockets managed to have 12 steals and 12 blocks making it their first game since the Game 5 of the 1994 Western Conference finals which they went on to win the first NBA title.

Harden said, “We did not make as many shots as we were hoping for. However, for these last few games, we held on to our defense.”

Chris Paul said, “We did not want to go back to Utah, we wanted to take care of the business tonight. All night we talked about energy. It is always hard to beat a team and close them out.”

Clint Capela also had a solid game for the Rockets as he scored 16 points and 10 rebounds. Earlier in game 4 loss of the team, he revealed about trouble in breathing following a respiratory infection and could only score 4 points.

Clint said, “I felt a lot better tonight. I was definitely feeling like a much better person than the person I felt in the game earlier.”

As for Donavon Mitchell who led the jazz’s victory in game 4 with 31 points, could only score 12 points in this game.

PJ Tucker of the Rockets set himself a career high of 4 blocks on the night.
