Harden leads with triple double as Rockets top Sharks by 140-71 in the NBA preseason opener

In the NBA’s preseason opening game played between Shanghai Sharks and the Houston Rockets, James Harden took the lead for the Rockets as he scored 20 points along with 17 assists as well as 12 rebounds as Rockets won over Sharks by 140-71.

Russell Westbrook, who had been acquired by the Rockets this summer in a trade from Oklahoma City Thunders, was not present in this game.

Rockets are planning to take thing a little slow with Westbrook as he had already spent most of the offseason time recovering from his arthroscopic knee surgery which he had back in May.

Other top scorer from Rockets’ side was Clint Capela with his 25 points along with 10 rebounds. Most of the Rockets’ starters played aggressively in the first half to take a lead of 77-34.

Gerald Green helped Rockets with his 21 points and also went on to make 5 -3pointers when the whole team had 23 3-pointers.

As for the former Rockets’ famed player Donatas Motiejunas, he took the lead of Shanghai Sharks with his 27 points along with 11 rebounds. As for James Nully, who had played with Rockets for a short time in last season, he scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds.

Houston will now be on trip to Los Angles where they will play against Los Angeles Clipper on the Friday night which will be then followed by their two games against the last season champions Toronto Raptors. These two games will be held in Tokyo on October 8th and October 9th.
