Union Berlin wins over Cologne by 2-0 to climb at the 10th spot in the Bundesliga

Sebastian Andersson took the lead of the Union Berlin in their game against Cologne to lead their 2-0 win and allow for the team to rise to the 10th rank in the Bundesliga standing.  This is the 4th consecutive home win for the Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.

The striker from Sweden struck both of his goals for the team during the 2 halves of the game to give them their 6th win of the Bundesliga.  With this win, Union Berlin fans were given hope for their club as they started singing Jingle Bells in the stadium as their team has survived the tough their first season of the Bundesliga.

Union Berlin is now 7 points clear from the relegation zone after playing 14 games and they are now closer to the defending champion of the Bundesliga; Bayern Munich is currently struggling at the very bottom of the league.

Cologne, which is still very lucky to not have lost by a greater goal margin at the home stadium of Berlin; Stadion An der Alten Försterei, as they are now in a really troubling spot under their new coach named Markus Gisdol. The last game Cologne won was back on 30th October and since then there are trialing at the bottom of the Bundesliga’s standings.

Horst Heldt, the sporting director for Cologne said, “We are not really scoring any goals and we are also not conceding any goals.  That has now got to change and very quickly too.”

The first goal for union Berlin was scored during the 25th minute of the first half by the Swede and the 2nd goal came in the 33rd minute of the 2nd half.

As for the other match of the league between Paderborn and Werder Bremen, it ended with a 1-0 win for the Paderborn following the last-minute goal scored by Sven Michel.
