Zverev faces Jarry in Geneva Open final while Paire wins the Lyon Open final against Canadian teen Auger-Aliassime

The top seeded player at the Geneva Open, Alexander Zverev is going to bid for wining his seasons’ first title as he is to face the world rank 75th Nicolas Jarry on Saturday at the Geneva Open final.

The word rank no. 5, Zverev had to win a tough battle against his semis opponent Fredrico Delbonis whom he defeated ultimately by 7-5, 6-7 and 6-3 on Friday.

As for the unseeded player of the event Nicolas Jarry of Chile, he managed to reach his career’ first final of a tournament by defeating the 5th seeded Moldavian player, Radu Albot by 6-3 and 6-4.

Elsewhere, the French veteran tennis player Benoit Paire was able to beat the Canadian teenager Felix Auger-Aliassime to win the Lyon Open title on Saturday by 6-4 and 6-3.

This is Paire’s second clay court trophy for the season having won the first won back in April at Morocco Open held in Marrakesh.

Paire is currently on 12-3 for the clay court matches as he enters the season’s 2nd biggest tournament, the French Open which starts on Sunday.

Paire said, “I expect a lot of competition at Roland Garros now. I have won a lot of matches and I am currently at 100 percent physical state. I hope I can go like this for a second week in a row because for a Slam such as French Open, I would be going there for the first time.”

As for the 18 years old Auger-Aliassime, this was his career’ first loss at the Lyon Open who earlier won the challenger tournament for the last two years here.

Auger-Aliassime is currently ranked as world no 28th which is his career high right now.
