Curry leads the short-handed Warriors to oust the Houston Rockets in Game 6

Stephen Curry had a scoreless first half of his playoff career but he soon bounced back to score 33 points for the team in the remaining 2 quarters to help the Golden State Warriors make it to the finals of the Western Conference by beating Houston Rockets on Friday night.

Steve Kerr, Warriors coach said about what he told Curry’s parents; Sonya and Dell Curry, “If that game is not going to personify what Stephen Curry really is, then I am not sure what is.”

The huge rally from Curry in the 2nd half helped the Warriors who were applying without Kevin Durant to win over the Rockets by 118-113. As for Steph Curry, he also admitted that he was feeling a little down coming to this game and his play was poor in the first half.

Curry said, “A night like tonight does not become a reality unless I believe in myself.”

The Splash Brother’s Klay Thompson also helped his team as he scored 27 points. With this win, Warriors have made it to the Western Conference finals for the record 5 times in a row and have defeated Rockets 4 times in the last 5 NBA seasons.

Warriors managed to do all that without Durant on their side as he was sidelined due to a left calf injury in warriors’ Game 5 win.

Curry struggled for the very first time in his career’s 102nd playoff game as he remained scoreless. In three periods he only managed to have 10 points but went into overdrive during the 4th quarter to score 23 points.

Rockets coach, Mike D’Antoni said, “This one’s going to leave a huge mark. This is not something you can just get over. This one truly hurts. We played our bets and they also played their best and we were not able to knock them out. This series was like a heavyweight fight. We were not able to land even some shots to get back to the Warriors.”

Warriors are now scheduled for a Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the winner of Denver VS Portland series on Tuesday next week.
