Edwards scores 8 3-pointersto allow Celtics have a perfect preseason campaign

In the entire NBA history, Boston Celtics are one team that had numerous great perimeter shooters like Larry Bird and Ray Allen.

Still, none of these shooters could match the hot hand of the Celtics rookie player Carsen Edwards who made a spectacular shooting on Tuesday night game.

Edwards led the Boston Celtics with his 8 3-pointer shots to score 26 points in the 3rd quarter. The Celtics won over their preseason opponent Cleveland Cavaliers by 118-95 to complete their pre-season campaign with a clean sweep.

The only other team to have an unbeaten preseason campaign is Philadelphia 76ers with a 4-0 record. Still, this success of the 76ers is not that much of a big deal as they are considered right now as one of the best teams in NBA right now.

As for the performance of Edwards on Tuesday night, it was indeed surprising for fans as there had been only a few such performances in any stage of the basketball games.

Edwards, a pick up from the Purdue completed 8 of his 11 3-pointer attempts during the 3rd quarter and all of these shots came within 9 minutes time window.

There had been talks about Klay Thompson being the best shooter in the league as he had been the only player in the NBA to have scored more 3-pointer shots than any other player in a single quarter. The record for regular-season 3-pointer shooting still stands for Thompsons’ 9 3s during the 3rd quarter in a game of Golden State VS Sacramento back in 2015.

All in all, Edwards completed 9 of his 15 3-pointer attempts and totaled in 30 points for the team.

As for the 76ers VS Pistons game on Tuesday, it ended with a 106-86 win for the 76rs.  Joel Embidd led the 76ers with his 20 points in the first half for having 51 points in total. Embidd finished the night with 24 points along with 8 rebounds against the short-handed Pistons.
